Project: Riverwood high school Auditorium and Gymnasium addition
Location: Sandy Sprins, GA
Architect: Chapman Griffin Lanier Sussenbach
Tri Tech had the privilege of contributing to the enhancement of Riverwood's infrastructure through the installation of Jefferson picket railings for a new school addition. The scope of our work encompassed the fabrication, and installation of Jefferson picket railings and Washington railings along designated areas of the school addition. The primary areas targeted included staircases, elevated walkways, and ramps to ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors.
The selection of materials focused on durability and low maintenance to withstand the rigors of a school environment. Providing an exterior aluminum 3-line variant of the Jefferson picket railings with 215-R1 clear stain anodized finish and Interior Washington stainless steel handrails with a #6 (320 grit) circumferential brushed finish. The anodizing not only provided an attractive finish but also added an extra layer of protection against corrosion and wear, ensuring longevity and reducing the need for frequent maintenance. The use of stainless steel in high traffic areas is the material of choice where hygiene and cleaning for pathogens is a concern. All of the handrails feature the added touch typical on CGLS projects with a question mark shaped rail end detail. Providing an additional design note, while still meeting ADA and building codes.
Our installation process was carefully planned and executed to minimize disruption to the school's daily activities. Coordination with the school administration and construction team was paramount to ensure a smooth workflow. Our team worked diligently to adhere to project timelines and minimize any inconvenience to the school community. The railing installation strictly adhered to local building codes and safety standards. Our team conducted regular safety inspections throughout the project to ensure a secure environment for everyone on the school premises.
The successful completion of the railing installation significantly enhanced both the safety and visual appeal of the school’s addition. The new railings seamlessly integrated with the existing architecture, providing a cohesive and welcoming atmosphere. Our team takes pride in having contributed to the improvement of Riverwood's facilities by delivering a high-quality railing installation that prioritized safety, functionality, and aesthetics. This project exemplifies our commitment to excellence and our ability to seamlessly integrate new elements into existing structures.
Tri Tech was started in our Austell, Georgia location in September of 1977.
